Once a year the Dalai Lama moved from the "winter palace" or Potala to the sunny and beautiful "summer palace" which is found in the Norbulingka or "jewel park". Also in Lhasa, this complex of gardens, chapels, and pavilions is a favorite place for the Tibetan pilgrims.
