On the eastern side of Kathmandu is an area that contains many Tibetan monasteries, and the huge stupa, one of the largest in the world, called Bodhnath. Pilgrims make the traditional walk around this stupa three times, chanting in prayer. There are many shops carrying Tibetan clothing and crafts in this area, including the boots or shoes in this small painting.
