Shigatse is the second largest city in Tibet after Lhasa, and the Tashilhunpo Monastery, where the Panchen Lama traditionally resides, one of the oldest and most famous.

This group of pilgrims is resting in the sun against one of the red-rock walls of the monastery for lunch and Tibetan tea. The Himalayas are visible in the background
